The Pew Research Center did a deep dive into local news consumption in a study of more than 35,000 adults. Here are a few of the key takeaways it revealed:
Television is the preferred source of news although online sources are catching up.
Weather is the number one topic adults are interested in, followed by crime, traffic, and transportation. Sports was interesting to only 10% of news consumers, falling behind community activities and tying arts and culture.
The Pew study lets you break down results for nearly 100 individual media markets with this interactive tool.
